Angry Arab on Islam and Muslims in the US
As'ad AbuKhalil, better known as Angry Arab, a guest of Aljazeera's "Min Washington" (From Washington) to discuss Islamophobia and the American reactions and counter-reactions to the proposed construction of the mosque and Islamic centre near Ground Zero, the former site of the World Trade Center in New York City.
As'ad AbuKhalil (b. 1960) is a Lebanese-American professor of political science at California State University, Stanislaus and visiting professor at University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of "Historical Dictionary of Lebanon" (1998), "Bin Laden, Islam & America's New War on Terrorism" (2002), and "The Battle for Saudi Arabia" (2004). He maintains a blog, The Angry Arab News Service, and a YouTube Channel.
The episode was aired on 24 August 2010 under the title "Islam and Muslims in the US", presented by veteran Aljazeera presenter and reporter Mohammad al-Alamy.
